Humber All Nations Alliance wins place on Scale Accelerator

November 19, 2020 by Webmaster

HUMBER ALL NATIONS ALLIANCE (HANA) has won a place on a national Scale Accelerator programme, which helps charities and social enterprises to reach more people and maximise impact, as the pandemic continues to present the social sector with serious challenges.
We are one of just six charities from across the UK to be selected for the prestigious programme run by global non-profit consultancy Spring Impact, in a highly competitive process.
HANA is a specialist infrastructure organisation supporting members of the diverse ethnic community groups and associations in the Humber Region.
Backed by the National Lottery Community Fund, the Scale Accelerator provides vital support, skills and insight for organisations ambitious about changing more lives. It provides a tailored programme, delivered through virtual interactive sessions, helping organisations to build the capacity and skills to maximise and sustain their impact.
Each organisation benefits from over £30,000 worth of consultancy from a dedicated team of experts, who draw upon Spring Impact’s proven methodology.
Spokesperson for HANA, Francis Ahiakpa, Chief Executive Officer, said it is a great opportunity to be able to work with some fantastic organisations and partners. This is great news for the City and the People we support.
Hannah Barker, Scale Accelerator Programme Manager at Spring Impact said:

“Congratulations to Humber All Nations alliance for their well-deserved success in joining the Scale Accelerator. Helping more people access lifechanging social innovations is more important than ever, as the covid-19 crisis continues to impact on the lives of the most vulnerable in our society. We are excited to kick-start this autumn’s Scale Accelerator with this fantastic cohort and help them to reach their ambitions.”

Made possible thanks to a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK, twenty-nine ambitious UK charities and social entrepreneurs have participated in the Scale Accelerator since 2015. As a result, many have increased their reach and impact, and gained funding for their next phase of scale.
Cassie Robinson, Senior Head of UK funding at The National Lottery Community Fund, said:

“Charities and voluntary sector organisations are facing new and difficult pressures posed by COVID-19, whilst also playing a vital role in helping society to respond. We’re proud that National Lottery funding is supporting Scale Accelerator and projects across the UK to scale up, maximise their impact and reach, and ultimately support people and communities during this pandemic.”

Hands up for a Healthier Hull – NEW funding available for community groups

August 19, 2013 by Webmaster

Voluntary and community groups with great ideas to help make the city a healthier place can now bid for up to £5,000 funding from NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group to get their ideas off the ground.

The new Healthier Hull Community Fund invites groups across the city to apply for funding for projects that aim to improve the health of their community, get people active or improve ways to help people look after their own health/self-care.

Applicants can be from anywhere; however the project they are looking to run must benefit residents within Hull.

Applicants have until 30 August 2013 to apply for funding. The application process is designed to be simple with support from the CCG to ensure that there are no barriers to completing the forms.

Healthier Hull Community Fund application forms and further information can be found at www.hullccg.nhs.uk or are available via (01482) 344700.

For anyone who would like some help completing the application, a “Help with your grant application” session will be held at The Maltings:

‘Help with your grant application’ session

Tuesday 20th August 2013

From 1:30pm

In the board room at The Maltings, Silvester Square, Silvester Street HU1 3HA

To book your place please email HULLCCG.contactus@nhs.net or ring 01482 344869

What makes the process different from other grant schemes is that shortlisted applicants are invited to present their proposal to an audience made up of people in their local area who have the final say, by voting on the projects that should get the go-ahead. The public voting events will be set for October and funding released to successful applicants very shortly after.

For further information and to submit an application for the Healthier Hull Project Fund please visit www.hullccg.nhs.uk or telephone 01482 344700.
