Community First Yorkshire Head of Projects

Community First are recruiting a Head of Projects to join the Community First Yorkshire senior management. It’s a new role that will take over project operational leadership and line management of project staff from the Chief Executive.

The role will manage a varied and interesting portfolio – from a small team leading a partnership of external delivery organisations under Ex-Forces Support North Yorkshire to single project co-ordinators leading on community hubs in Leeds, community led housing in North Yorkshire, community development in Ryedale and the secretariat of a committee representing the voices of parent carers.
In addition, to ensuring current projects deliver successfully and funders and key stakeholders are kept informed and up to date on performance, you will also support the Chief Executive develop new project ideas and secure funding.

As a member of the senior management team you’ll be working alongside three other managers.
You’ll need to be a skilled programme manager and experienced leader who can spot and develop new business ideas. You will need the ability to mentor project staff, develop their formal project management skills and help them resolve issues, and encourage a culture of continuous improvement on projects. They are looking for a solutions focussed individual who understands sustainable community development approaches and has an affinity with the wider VCS and rural context that they are working in.
