GamCare has been established for 20 years, and is the largest national provider of information, advice, support and treatment for anyone affected by problem gambling.
GamCare operate a Youth Outreach Programme, offering free workshops for 11-19 year olds and free training sessions for youth-facing staff. This programme runs in four regions nationwide and is expanding into Hull in April 2018.
GamCare is recruiting for a Youth Outreach Officer to promote, schedule and deliver this work in Hull and the surrounding areas, working two days per week.
Key Responsibilities will require the candidate to:
Establish the reputation of the GamCare Youth Outreach programme in youth work settings across Hull and surrounding areas.
Promote, arrange and deliver half-day training sessions to youth-facing professionals (e.g. youth workers, teachers, social workers) in Hull and the surrounding areas
Promote, arrange and deliver young peoples’ workshops to 11-19-year olds in Hull and surrounding areas
Maintain accurate records and provide statistical information required to assist delivery and evaluation
Be a point of contact for people interested in GamCare’s young people’s projects in Hull and surrounding area
You should have previous experience working with young people aged 11-19 and delivering educative content to a variety of audiences.
The role will require delivery time in Hull and the surrounding area, as well as administration done from home. This role will require an enhanced DBS check. You will need to have modern ICT accessible to you.
This role requires two days of work per week. The ideal candidate will work flexibly, able to attend sessions on different days and time as they are booked in.
You will form part of an enthusiastic team working and committed to supporting those affected by problem gambling across Great Britain, and work with a supportive line manager based in London.
