Volunteer Development Worker Vacancy

18.5 hours per week

NJC Salary Points 26-28 starting at £22,937 (pro rata) + 5% workplace pension and membership of Simply Heath (on completion of probationary period).

Hours include regular evenings and weekend work.

Fixed term contract to 31st December 2017 with the possibility of a 12 month extension.

 

Yorkshire MESMAC are looking for a member of staff to join their new team in Hull working alongside the Operations Manager to establish and drive forward this innovative sexual health promotion service working with those populations most of risk of sexual ill health. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand new service, and to have a positive, lasting impact on the Public Health of Hull.

This post will see you working to:

Increase opportunities across Hull to contribute to improving the sexual health of populations most at risk of HIV and poor sexual health through voluntary action.

Contribute to creating a future skilled workforce via volunteering opportunities.

Inspire, develop and deliver voluntary action across the Hull District in particular;

•           Social media engagement and online outreach with Yorkshire MESMAC’s services

•           Group co-facilitation and support

•           Community based STI and contraception events outreach

•           Community ambassadors roles

•           Outreach to health promotion events and opportunities

•           Sexual health skills, peer mentoring

•           Positive speakers

 

Ensure that the Hull projects of Yorkshire MESMAC Group of Services have in place the systems and infra-structure to support people to become volunteers including recruitment, training, personal development and supervision.
