The My Journey project is an opportunity for younger members of the migrant BAME community to share their physical and emotional journey from their home nation to the UK, and Hull in particular. This is done through a series of photographs and drawings culminating in a public display of the work. The project also offers the young people taking part the opportunity of supervised visits to local museums and galleries to give them a broader understanding of the history and culture of Hull.
My Journey offers a way to challenge the public perception of migrant communities whilst acknowledging the willingness of the people of Hull and the East Riding to welcome them to the area.
