As part of our initiative to create a sustainable and enriching gardening project for BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) disadvantaged children in Hull. HANA is happy to announce the start of an accessible and sustainable community gardening project aimed at promoting environmental consciousness, collaboration, team-building and personal development.
Objectives:
- To provide BAME children with gardening skills.
- To foster a connection to nature and promotes healthy living
- To promote environmental/climate awareness and education
Beneficiaries:
- The primary beneficiaries are vulnerable BAME children in Hull. They often face economic challenges and limited access to green spaces.
Inspired by successful urban gardening initiatives in other cities, the project’s goal is to be a long-term initiative, extending beyond the initial two years of funding. Its implementation in Hull is targeted at meeting the specific needs of BAME children, and contribute to Hull city council’s community inclusion strategy.
