Hate Crime Awareness Training
Hate Crime is where people are targeted because of the nature of their diversity which affects not only the primary victims but also the wider families and sometimes communities. It is a serious crime often committed against victims who are particularly vulnerable due to their individual circumstances.
HANA has designed training workshops to create awareness of hate crime, what it is, what effects it has on victims, the importance of reporting it, how to report as a witness or third party.
Each workshop will look at a range of topics, covering all strands of hate crime including:

All workshops are designed to get participants involved and are aimed to be highly inter active.
Cultural Awareness Training
At Present, all parts of the public sector are under pressure to improve their training on cultural diversity issues. Two of the most recent drivers for this have been the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry and the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000.
In today’s world, we continuously encounter foreign cultures, values and practices and are nosed to different styles of working and communicating. Introduction to Islam: Faith and Practices
This course is aimed at Non-Muslim public sector professionals who work with Muslims from diverse communities and all those who wish to increase their knowledge in Islam and help you to promote equal opportunities and equal access to service provision.
Muslims are from the second largest and most culturally diverse faith community in the UK, and represent a quarter of the world’s population. Research has shown that in many sectors of the UK workforce, greater effectiveness would be achieved through staff having a greater understanding of Islam and Muslims. Understanding your clients and their needs is the key to Improving your organization’s performance whatever industry you are in.
The course aims to provide participants with knowledge and understanding of:
- The basic beliefs and practices of Islam

What is Humber All Nations Alliance?
HANA’s primary aim is to promote the well-being of BME communities in the Humber Sub-region by providing a voice and advocate on their behalf, and by representing their interests in a range of influential or decision-making contexts. This role is supported by capacity-building amongst BME groups, signposting and referral on the one hand and engagement with partnership bodies on the other.
We aim to be of service to BME communities by facilitating consultation and feedback on issues which affect them and by conducting research into subjects which concern them, and particularly into local service provision to identify obstacles which may make take-up difficult for BME communities.
